I just don't understand how one can hurt someone they love so much by being what they are.

I believe in vagueness. I believe it protects you from unwanted attention. I believe being vague saves one from the burden of having to explain and putting oneself out there. But sometimes vagueness can also be the sole reason to why people are attracted to you in the first place; just as much as they're attracted to mystery and questions. So don't try to change that about someone else.
