I hate strawberry flavoured anything.
But I still wonder about you.

Beautiful scenic design models from Matilda The Musical by Tony-winner Rob Howell and his crew.

I'm quite a movie buff; but I'm painfully selective over the type of shows that I watch. I tend to spoil it for myself almost all the time (I shit you not). So, having gone on a movie in an actual cinema (for the first time in months), I still stand by the fact that cinemas aren't really my thing. Something about the whole voyeuristic feeling of being inside a dark room, the potentiality of being watched and scrutinized from security camera and the whole impersonal and public feel of the "arena" makes me feel so out of place and self-conscious. I feel repressed and depressed inside a dark cinema and that overwhelming feeling often makes me feel like I need a light (or ten); the oppressive sounds coming from the speakers.

So while everyone else was enjoying the wholly actionable scenes of Thor 2, I scrunched lower into my seat and contemplated some unnecessary facts of life that I had yet to think of. Maybe even the most ridiculous scenarios that life could have conjured up for me in the darkness of a cinema. Harrrrrr...how amusing.

And I also realized that I've only been to an actual theater a few times. Or maybe a couple more than I can recall, but I really can't pinpoint anything memorable from shows that I've sat through. Musical recitals, dance recitals, drama plays and musicals. It's been a dream to actually watch a real theater show. Something about a theater that seems so open and surreal - so welcoming, so honest and real - the definition of real art - openly expressive, welcoming-ly brutal about portrayals.

How could I ask so much of you after what we'd agreed?
I do miss you. So so much.
But there's nothing left to hold on to.

Today, I wrapped up my education in college. And I'm feeling both feelings of the spectrum, iridescent joy and passionate sorrow. I've said goodbye (or more of a temporary farewell) to the people I have turned to for the past one and a half years - the people I have shared so many emotions with - people I've come to look at as "family".

I've still got to remind myself that this isn't goodbye however; we will still meet. Be it under different circumstances and fairly frequently too (insert bitter laugh), and even though most of us won't really stay in touch, there'll be that one reminiscent characteristic that makes them stand out in your memories as having been part of your life. And yourself having the honour of being part of theirs. I look forward to seeing/hearing/doing something that reminds me of someone and should that day come, pick up the phone and dial their numbers.

Twas' a dark dark dark period
via: clamavi

These days are spent restlessly drifting through the whirlwind of moving on, moving around and moving fast. There's just simply no time. There's so many things we want to do, but not enough time. And when I think back to the beginning of the year, I've come so far. It's what a year does for you. And I try so hard to hold on to the things that I have now, but I'll have to let it go one day in order to move on.

"I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most"
- A Drop in the Ocean - Ron Pope
